1. Of all the tools and gadgets you own which do you most enjoy using?
My iPhone, I love having everything accessible in one gadget. It's a 3G so I'm looking forward to this summer upgrading to the 4G.
2. When (if ever) is impatience a virtue?
When timing is important or near misses....sometimes in life the squeaky wheel gets the grease, early bird gets the worm...I know they say patience is a virtue ...I'm not the most patient person...
3. What temperature do you keep your thermostat set to in winter? Do you have another way to heat your house besides a furnace of some type?
Usually in the day if home 68 and at night for sleeping 65. Sometimes if really cold I bump it up to 70 or hover around the gas fireplace. The gas fireplace is really not enough to heat the house just enough to take the edge off.
4. Do/did you have a close relationship with any of your grandparents?
We moved across the country from Seattle Washington to New Jersey when I was 5 years old. So we talked to them on holidays and visited when possible. Back then it wasn't as easy to communicate like today or travel. Coming from a family with 5 kids you didn't fly like people do today.
5. When did you last have a family portrait taken?
This summer while at our family reunion we took our own portrait. I would like a professional one done before Katelyn leaves for college. One were photoshopping is involved!!
Not exactly frame worthily!!
6. What does the word patriotism mean to you?
Love and loyalty to your country.
7. Do you like to play cards and if so, what's your favorite card game?
I love playing cards....Demon, Golf, Gin
8. Insert your own random thought here.
The news of lately is driving me nuts....tired of the Michael Jackson doctor trial....I agree he is negligent but lets remember Michael Jackson abused drugs for a long time before Dr. Murray showed up on his door step. And Herman Cain....well I'm changing the channel. We were in Germany during the last election and missed all the TV hoop la....I can't listen to this for the next how many months....!
Joining Joyce today at From this side of the Pond....stop by and play along!

The news is exhausting. I agree. I've never heard of Demon or Golf. My grandparents lived on the other side of the country too and there were four kids in the family. I think about how often we hop on an airplane now...when I was a kid that was a rare thing!
Enjoy your day!
I think we're due for a family portrait as well.
Have a great Wednesday.
Yes the news is tiring inc Kim K. I love that pic of you and your family though!
I so agree about the news!
I agree about the news. Election time is inundated with negative commercials for months!
This was my first Wednesday Hodgepodge and I had fun with it!
I haven't played cards in forever! I think your family picture was really nice, but definitely get one before she leaves for school. We did that too, and I'm so glad!
It's funny about the news - we get Good Morning America here in the afternoon (live in US) and so I'm up on all the Cain, Dr. Murray gobbelygook too. It does get tiring.
Love my new iPhone (I just got a 4G) and love that I can snap pics so easily whereever i happen to be.
Your family pic is lovely - I would definitely frame it :)
I think you need a photo of you and your hubby on each side of your girl kissing her cheeks before she leaves. Close up. Black and white :).
I want an iphone :)!!
I learn something every day. I thought you grew up in Utah.
And, we still have a whole year to go before we get the election over with!
I can't live without my iPhone either!
I am going to wait for the iPhone 5, then trade up from my 3g
As far as TV shows, I am DONE watching the "Real" Housewives of Atlanta. What a bunch of fools. Finally got sick of Nene yelling at one of them one too many times.
Glad Nancy Grace got the boot on DWTS. She was driving me and Mr. O crazy. Rob Kardashian's time on DWTS lasted longer than his sister's marriage LOL
Oh well, now Dr. Murray is in jail so no more about him. I agree Herman Cain has to GO! Tired of the women who are now all coming out of the woodwork to tell their "stories" Blech!
I have a DROID 2 GLOBAL cellphone. Can't imagine life without it. My family is scattered all over the country on both coasts. Visits are rare. Your family photo is great. I get my news online. If there's a headline I'm interested in, I read it. TV news is always making mountains out of molehills. Take care.
Love your family portrait. I never watch the news anymore, turn on the news for ten minutes and I am disgusted.
I agree the news is awful and repetitive. I can't even watch local news because it seems so violent and weird. We need some positive energy that's for sure.
Don't get me started on the negative news lately--We both know it hasn't improved a BIT.
I love the photo.
I don't imagine that Kyle will settle in this area, sadly; he's drawn to the "big city." Thankfully, at this point, that "big" city is Milwaukee, to which he is transferring second semester.
