Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. The Summer Olympics officially begin this Friday night...will you be watching? If you could see just one event in person which one would you pick?

I already called dibs on the best seat in the house....I'd pick gymnastics or swimming event.

2.Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

A little of both....As long as I accomplish at least one thing on my list on a lazy day thats good enough for me. When I worked everyday counted...now theres always tomorrow!

3. July 25th is 'officially' Threading the Needle Day...can you sew? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being not at all and 10 being Betsy Ross-like, how would you rate your skill with a needle and thread?

I'm like a 2.5! I got a sewing machine for Christmas and made some outdoor pillows....I'm making Katelyn pillows for her dorm room....so I pretty much can sew but barely.

4. 'Threading the Needle' can also mean to walk a fine line between two things or issues (think awkward social situation). When was the last time you had to 'thread the needle', figuratively speaking?

I have a next door neighbor that challenges me constantly....every time I talk to her I thread the needle.....only once have a lost it.

5. Kidney, pinto, black, or navy...your favorite bean?

Kidney....use it the most in soups and chili.

6. Have you ever hosted a garage sale? Was it more success or bust?

Once before we moved from Utah, four years ago....we got rid of a lot of things so I guess in that regard it was a success...bought us a nice dinner out, but not a new couch! I personally donate my things to various organizations rather than waste the time selling them. Though I love a good garage sale and have been known to slam on my brakes for one.

7. What makes you roll your eyes?

Women my age that dress like their teenage daughters.....just because you can doesn't mean you should.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

We have been busy bees getting everything for Katelyn's dorm etc...doing some crafty things for her dorm as well....Pinterest inspired of coarse!

I bought a framed mirror at a consignment shop for $5 it was gold. We removed the mirror and spray painted the frame ivory, bought some ivory lace, she cut and glued them on and here is her new earring holder...

Now I'm off to start sewing!!
Happy Wednesday!

"As long as I accomplish at least one thing on my list on a lazy day thats good enough for me." My sentiments, exactly. LOL Love the picture frame idea too. Take care.

Cute frame...even though there are mixed emotions it is fun getting them all set up. Happy Viewing! I'm planning to see a lot of it too...so much better than most of what's on tv!

LOL...you called dibs! I have had a few sales when we have moved but donating is so much easier. Great answer on rolling the eyes. We have a few of those at bowling!!!

Yes, we watch the Olympics. Mostly just the gymnastics and swimming though.

OOh, I am with you on #7. Why do grown women have to dress like they are in their teens?! They may be in good shape but to me they just look ridiculous!

"Just because you can doesn't mean you should" HA! I love this almost as much as I love watching the Olympics :)

I roll my eyes when parents try to relive their teen lives through their teenager's life. Dads might not dress like their sons but sometimes they try to act like them. I can (and have) sew a button back on a shirt so that puts me at about 0.25 on the scale??

I totally agree about the garage sale. I would rather just donate stuff than take the time to hold a garage sale.

Can't wait to see how you help decorate your daughter's dorm room, how fun!
